Na Na Nee Boo Boo

Wes Pruden's sharp penned commentary on Pelosi's contradictions:

When he said "the facts need to come out," he didn't mean all the facts, just the facts that could be spun against the Republicans - "not about what leading Democrats were told about the legal justification and use of controversial interrogation techniques."

Dianne Feinstein, the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, attempted to defend the speaker with the argument that what someone said seven years ago must be measured against the temperature of the times in the wake of 9/11, when nearly everyone was terrified of a "second wave" of attacks. But Democrats have to be careful with this line of argument, lest they arouse speculation about just why there has been no "second wave." Could it be because someone named George did what was necessary, even introducing vicious terrorists to good bathing hygiene, to prevent that "second wave"?

Coalition forms to limit reach of health care plan

In the meetings, the Blue Dogs were concerned with process and how the reforms would be paid for, while the New Dems were focused on policy.

Still, both groups raised concerns over the controversial proposal to create a public insurance plan that competes with the private insurance market.

During the meeting with the New Dems, the committee chairmen made it clear that including the public plan was central to bringing costs down, according to a source familiar with the meetings.

They lied to make sure no one complains

Read about it here:

Candice Miller, a Republican congresswoman representing Sterling Heights, Mich., home of a 1,400-worker Chrysler plant, even went on the House floor soon after Obama's announcement, saying it meant, "most importantly, no plant closures or new job losses."

Wrong. Sterling Heights, like Twinsburg, would be sucker-punched the next day with news of a plant closing.

Were Congress members duped? If so, by whom and why?

The short answers appear to be yes, by both Chrysler and the White House.

Who's spending all that money? BARACK OBAMA,HYPOCRITE

Shame, shame

The effort by those on the Left to reach back and possibly punish those who were involved in keeping this country safe in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks is just downright wrongheaded -- and will only hurt our national security.

No, I didn't!!

Say what you thought I said!

More Americans pro=life than pro-abortion

A new Gallup Poll, conducted May 7-10, finds 51% of Americans calling themselves "pro-life" on the issue of abortion and 42% "pro-choice." This is the first time a majority of U.S. adults have identified themselves as pro-life since Gallup began asking this question in 1995.

If you don't lie,

you don't have to remember what you said:

Big Brother is firing you

and you and you and you....

"Management needs to be evaluated," Bair said on Bloomberg TV's program Political Capital with Al Hunt.

"Have they been doing a good job? Are there people who can do a better job," Bair said. Asked about chief executives being replaced, Bair replied, "Yes," according to the report.

Panetta distances himself from Pelosi

Let me be clear: It is not our policy or practice to mislead Congress. That is against our laws and our values. As the Agency indicated previously in response to Congressional inquiries, our contemporaneous records from September 2002 indicate that CIA officers briefed truthfully on the interrogation of Abu Zubaydah, describing “the enhanced techniques that had been employed.” Ultimately, it is up to Congress to evaluate all the evidence and reach its own conclusions about what happened.

Surprise! Activist appointed to head CDC

Sigh. Another wacko. Read about it here:

President Barack Obama on Friday named a public health activist who made New York the first U.S. city to ban smoking in restaurants to head the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the agency charged with protecting Americans from illnesses ranging from heart diseaseto new flu strains.

Dr. Thomas Frieden, 48, New York's top health official since January 2002, also made the city the country's first to ban the use of trans fats, which clog arteries and raise the risk of heart disease, from food prepared in restaurants.

Will Nancy be hoisted on her own petard?

Govt writing checks to dead people-and we want these people in charge of HEALTH CARE?

Read about it here:

The Social Security Administration, which sent out 52 million checks, says that some of those checks mistakenly went to dead people because the agency had no record of their death. That amounts to between 8,000 and 10,000 checks for millions of dollars.

The feds blame a rushed schedule, because all the checks have to be cut by June. The strange this is, some of the checks were made out to people -- like Romonini -- who were never even part of the Social Security system.

Cap and trade will devastate economy

Unbelievable. And they're still going to do it.  And no one's stopping them.
Until last week, Carol M. Browner, President-elect Barack Obama's pick as global warming czar, was listed as one of 14 leaders of a socialist group's Commission for a Sustainable World Society, which calls for "global governance" and says rich countries must shrink their economies to address climate change.

Powerline asks: Can Pelosi survive?

The CIA has no choice but to defend itself by demonstrating that she, not the Agency, is lying. Possibly Leon Panetta can save her, but at the moment, it is hard to see how this affair can end with Pelosi remaining as Speaker of the House.

Yeah, right. Blame it on Bush.

“We can’t keep on just borrowing from China
,” Obama said at a town-hall meeting in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, outside Albuquerque. “We have to pay interest on that debt, and that means we are mortgaging our children’s future with more and more debt.” [SNIP]“Most of what is driving us into debt is health care, so we have to drive down costs,” he said.

Gulp! Smile! Gulp!

WATCH

Michelle O more stunning than padma lakshmi

According to Maxim magazine. You be the judge:

What did she know and when did she know it?

Nancy seems a bit confused. Could the CIA be turning on her?

The CIA last week contradicted Pelosi, saying she had been told about the use of methods such aswaterboarding, or simulated drowning, in a September 2002 briefing.

The spy agency had issued a chart saying Pelosi, then the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, and Porter Goss, the committee chairman at the time, were given "a description of the particular EITs (enhanced interrogation techniques) that had been employed."

The Obama Card: drowning your country in debt

UNBELIEVABLE! Obama says we can't keep borrowing from China!

Yahoo has the headline: Obama says U.S. can't keep borrowing from China

"The long-term deficit and debt that we have accumulated is unsustainable. We can't keep on just borrowing from China or borrowing from other countries," Obama told a town hall meeting event in New Mexico."We have to pay interest on that debt and that means that we're mortgaging our children's future with more and more debt," he said.

Nancy Pelosi-Torturer??

If Mrs. Pelosi considers the enhanced interrogation techniques to be torture, didn't she have a responsibility to complain at the time, introduce legislation to end the practices, or attempt to deny funding for the CIA's use of them? If she knew what was going on and did nothing, does that make her an accessory to a crime of torture, as many Democrats are calling enhanced interrogation?

Who's going to stop this?

Anyone else get the feeling that not only is the GOP demoralized on this issue but worrisomely disorganized too? They only way they’ll have any leverage over the final product is to wage an exceedingly shrewd media campaign about universal health care’s weaknesses. Instead, radio silence thus far. Gulp.

Health care rationing on its way

Liberals are usually quick to dismiss any notion of health care rationing under a nationalized health care plan, but when politicians talk about "excess consumption" and "more than they need," what else besides rationing could they be talking about

Obama using supplemental budgeting

After going after the Bush administration for its use of supplemental bills to fund the war in Iraq, after talking about transparency and accountability, and after saying that the era of budget gimmicks was over, the Obama administration has formally asked Congress to approve $108 billion in supplemental funding for the International Monetary Fund as part of its strategy to stabilize global financial markets. And this comes on top of the $83.4 billion....

A word about the MS. California mess...

In America, we should not be watching a person endure character assassination and the possible loss of livelihood because she has committed the sin of daring to hold a “politically incorrect” position. Prejean was asked a question and she answered it. In America, once upon a time, the people who referred to themselves as “liberal” believed that one was entitled to one’s opinion and to full respect for it. Currently in America, every diversity is celebrated except the diversity of thought. Sadly, some in the nation have decided that thuggery, rather than respectful, reasonable argument, is a more expedient means of persuasion. They think “agree, or be destroyed” is a legitimate argument, as is its flip-side; “shut up to be safe.”

Obama's spending

Take a look at this at the Heritage Foundation:

Another must read

Surprisingly, Webber seems to have struck a chord with his logical and reasoned argument.  In fact, the only negative comments and responses I have found on the web have been the typical slams against ALW for being greedy.  And the most notable voice on this issue from the ranks of Britain’s entertainment industry was that of actor Michael Caine who joined ALW in his cause.  But, Caine has taken the argument one step further and has announced that he, in fact, will be leaving the UK to avoid the monstrous tax rate:

An incredibly insightful observation..

An amazing article at Big Hollywood:

Robert, don’t be so naive. We all know Obama’s lying through his teeth.”

“About gay marriage?”

“That and being,” he claws quote marks in the air, “a good Christian. Listen, Obama’s a Christian like I’m a Hasid.”

I am floored.

“You’re saying that Democrats assume Obama is lying for political expediency?”

“To get elected, sure. Hey, welcome to the real world.”

Eco FRAUDS

Styler herself added, "Yes, I do take planes. My life is to travel and my life is also to speak out about the horrors of an environment that is being abused at the hands of oil companies."[SNIP]
But Sting and Styler are not the only celebrities who claim to be eco-conscious while guzzling fossil fuels. Al Gore,Barbra StreisandLeonardo DiCaprio and John Travolta have all taken flak for their rapacious consumption.

Average salary $75,000

At a time when the official unemployment rate is nearing double digits, and 6.35 million people are receivingunemployment benefits, the U.S. government is on a hiring binge.

Blacks only movement grows

Still waiting for the "whites only" movement...
"When we were a community of black folks who could not go to the white stores, our community of black stores flourished," Brown said. "When we were given the opportunity to go into the white store, it was like nothing else mattered anymore and we wanted to go to the white store, regardless of what the black store provided. We could have the same or better products if we supported (black businesses) in the same way."

More tea parties?

In Texas and South Carolina:
Hoping to recapture the grassroots energy of last month’s “tea parties,” Republican Govs. Mark Sanford of South Carolina and Rick Perry of Texas will host a tele-town hall Thursday that’s being dubbed “Tea Party 2.0.”

Cheerios a DRUG?

REALLY?
The Food and Drug Administration scolded the makers of Cheerios about the way they promote the cereal's health benefits. The FDA sent a letter of warning to General Mills accusing them of making unauthorized health claims.

Obama's "dangerous budget...."

Republican strategists have a problem. The scale of what President Barack Obama proposes to do to the American economy is so enormous, so far-reaching and so potentially disastrous that the opposition party is having a hard time describing it....[SNIP]

In the end, it is becoming clearer and clearer that, as the deficit projections rise, the president is betting the fiscal health of the nation on his ability to enact universal, or near-universal, health care and, in the process of extending expensive health coverage to millions of currently uninsured Americans, actually save money for the taxpayers. It’s the biggest bet in generations, and its outcome will determine not only the fate of Obama’s presidency, but the nation’s fiscal future as well.

Your tax dollars spent on Chinese prostitutes

Yeah....2.6 million$...because they drink too much....yeah...Read about it about CNS News:
The National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAA), a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), will pay $2.6 million in U.S. tax dollars to train Chinese prostitutes to drink responsibly on the job.

Oprah says it's okay to have a jet

but Obama says no:
But Oprah didn't tell these graduates the truth about their new reality. They live in Obama's world now. First, if you are not already rich, becoming rich will be very difficult as long as Obama has the White House.

"You don't need banks and bondholders to make cars," the administration official.

WizBang blog comments on the administration's view of capitalism:

It has become manifestly clear that this comment captures the opinion of an administration that possesses an Ahab like obsession with transforming American capitalism to a system of picking winners and losers. It also sigals that the Obama administration will continue to feed tax payer dollars into a broken, government protected and subsidized union ownership business model that no private sector lender would ever loan money to again.

Four times the size of last year's deficit

Gateway Pundit has the story:
