The Great Liberal Pandemonium Machine

There is an element of sadistic cruelty in the Leftist Pandemonium Machine. "Pandemonium" is the imaginary Hell of devils, and there is something truly demonic about the torrent of media madness we have to tolerate every day.

But we have to understand it as a psychological trick. Ultimately, each of us has to resist the media storm and learn to laugh at it. Only you can solve the problem of media madness by ignoring them: Turn away from the scare headlines on the daily news, turn off the radio, don't click false-alarming websites.  Every time you respond to a screaming scare story you are playing into their hands.

Homeland Security tracking tea partyers?

Read it at Red State:

On April 15th I attended the Council Bluffs, IA “Tea Party” Tax Day protest. I emailed the event organizer the day before that I would be attending the “Tea Party”, along with several fellow co-workers. I got the organizers name and email address through the website theglennbeck912project.com. I was a little hesitant to go at first since I’m not one for protesting, but in the final analysis it was a wonderful experienc Enough with the background, now let’s connect the dots. On April 18th, two days after the tea party protests, I was checking traffic on my website. I always do reverse IP traces on major hits to see where they are originating so I can evaluate the effectiveness of my marketing strategy. As I checked one particular large hit, I was stunned to see the following on my screen,

This drive only works when used on my computer that shares a power outlet with my teleprompter. The speeches seem to change before my eyes but that is probably due to the huge power requirements of the device. Oddly enough, the speech files cannot be removed and my antivirus software freaks out whenever I plug in the drive. I would ask for a refund but I'm sure I'm stick with it for a while.

Why not?

Holder announced Wednesday that 30 detainees have been cleared for release or transfer, up from an earlier announcement of 17. He did not indicate whether they will be set free or put in prison when they find a new home..[SNIP]
Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair has indicated that detainees released in the U.S. would likely receive government assistance to help them return to society -- one they've never been a part of.

"If we are to release them in the United States, we need some sort of assistance for them to start a new life," Blair said last month. "You can't just put them on the street."

I, I, I, I, I

A little realism from the AP? What's going on?

WASHINGTON (AP) - "That wasn't me," President Barack Obama said on his 100th day in office, disclaiming responsibility for the huge budget deficit waiting for him on Day One.

It actually was him - and the other Democrats controlling Congress the previous two years - who shaped a budget so out of balance.

Michelle Obama, fashion icon, IS Beautiful People!!!

Believe it!

(The Royal) We don't have to explain anything

from Say Anything Blog:

You gotta love Nancy Pelosi:

Sen. Arlen Specter’s decision to switch parties will make it easier for Democrats to move forward with their agenda, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Tuesday.

Specter’s switch will give Democrats 60 caucus members in the Senate (assuming Al Franken wins his legal battle in Minnesota). That is enough votes to end debate on a bill and overcome Republican filibusters.

“Very exciting, very exciting for the American people, because now we can get things done without explaining process,” Pelosi told CNN’s Candy Crowley.

Yes, Nancy, that whole “democracy” and “debate” business can get very tedious.

The real pandemic

(Just so everyone knows, I do NOT have the swine flu yet.  I just work with, um, pigs.)

Perspective on Specter

As John Cornyn is quoted at PowerLine Blog:

While Senator Specter's decision was indeed disappointing, it did allow us to realize - perhaps sooner than we would have liked - the dangerous ramifications of unbridled, one-party rule in Washington. Come November 2010, this may ultimately be viewed as a positive development in the Republican Party's climb back to power.

D.C.-get ticketed for parking in your own driveway!

(Beverly Anderson stands in her driveway - the exact spot where she received a ticket from the city. (WTOP Photo/Mark Segraves) So what does the law say?

"Any area between the property line and the building restriction line shall be considered as private property set aside and treated as public space under the care and maintenance of the property owner."

Basically what that means is most property owners in the District don't own the land between their front door and the sidewalk, but they are responsible for taking care of it. It's why you can get a ticket for drinking beer on your front porch in the Nation's Capital. You're technically on public space. It's also why the city can ticket you for parking in your own driveway if you don't pull your car deep enough into the driveway beyond the façade of your house or building.

To be clear, we're not talking about people who park in shallow driveways and let the rear of their cars block the sidewalk. The cars are off the road, off the sidewalk and in the driveway - just not far enough back for the city.

More questions about flyover

Read about it at Powerline:

One question that some have asked is who was aboard the aircraft; perhaps this fiasco was staged for, say, a group of left-wing Hollywood contributors. Robert Gibbs said today, however, that only Air Force personnel were aboard. You can take that for what it's worth.

So at this point it us unclear whether there is a story, other than the basic stupidity of the operation, or not. But let's assume there isn't. Assume, as I originally thought, that this fiasco illustrates the kind of arrogant and clueless decision-making that a government bureaucracy inevitably produces (not, of course, all the time). One might wonder, then, whether it is a good idea to turn our energy system, our health care, our children's education, and our banks and auto companies over to institutions--here, the Obama White House--that can't be relied on to make sane decisions.

Interesting theory

Okay, it's just a theory and we'll never know the truth BUT here's some speculation from Perfunction:

Connecting some dots, here.

At least one of the escorting F-16s was from the Alabama ANG, Red Tail and all.

Could this photo op mission have any particular connection to a new movie due out this year?

Could that connection explain the WHMO's eagerness to get some current glamour shots of BHO's A/C, escorted by the descendants of the Tuskegee Airmen, while flathatting over "the target formerly known as Ground Zero"?

Flyover came as low as 150 above city

According to officials, the flight -- authorized by the FAA -- came in as low as 1000 feet to 150 feet above the city as it made a large circle over Manhattan, Staten Island, and New Jersey. The plane used was the back-up presidential plane.

Self-evacuations of buildings in lower Manhattan and New Jersey, including the New York Mercantile Exchange, took place during the fly over.

Voter fraud in Ohio

Who could imagine:

Three members of VOTE TODAY OHIO pleaded guilty to VOTER FRAUD in Ohio....(Golden Week was a period of time in which people could register and vote here in Ohio. Because they were casting absentee ballots, voters did not have to show ID or prove their residency status. Furthermore, Republicans were denied the ability to poll-watch during this period. As you can imagine, "Golden Week" was highly controversial.)

Update: cost for flyover-$328,835

Federal officials knew that sending two fighter jets and Air Force One to buzz ground zero and Lady Liberty might set off nightmarish fears of a 9/11 replay, but they still ordered the photo-op kept secret from the public.

Tea Parties Hit with Hostile & Crude Media Response

Sorry, MSM, we were there at Perrysburg, Ohio, and it was GRASS ROOTS:
Media coverage of the more than 800 Taxed Enough Already (TEA) Party protests, which took place in all fifty states on April 15, 2009 ranged from disdainful dismissal of their nature, significance and import, to outright hostility towards the events and individual participants, to crude sexual innuendo-based ridicule -- all capped off by MSNBC bringing aboard actress Janeane Garofalo to scurrilously charge the rallies were only “about hating a black man in the White House.” Here's a summary of the most-obnoxious and hostile coverage, illustrated with several videos, on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC, as well as in USA Today, the New York Times and the Washington Post.

Real terrorists don't eat quiche

Unlike our Islamic terrorist enemies, we were not amputating fingers or extracting fingernails.  We were not gouging eyes from their sockets.  We were not applying high-amp electrical shocks to the genitalia of enemy combatants in our custody.  In fact, we were so darned civilized that the only shock in any of this is the degree of rancor with which our CIA protectors are now apparently regarded by a namby-pamby press and the Democrats in Congress seeking show trials and witch burnings.

An invitation to terrorists to settle here, in the good ole US of A

Reviewing the Uighurs detention, the inter-agency panel found that they weren’t the ignorant, innocent goatherds the White House believed them to be.  The committee determined they were too dangerous to release because they were members of the ETIM terrorist group, the “East Turkistan Islamic Movement,” and because their presence at the al-Queda training camp was no accident.  There is now no ETIM terrorist cell in the United States:  there will be one if these Uighurs are released into the United States.

According to Defense Department sources, the White House legal office has told the inter-agency review group to re-do their findings to come up with the opposite answer.

Being There

New Yorkers frightened by flyover, but not terrorists

Flyover estimated to cost a minimum of $250,000.

New debt underestimated due to rosy economic forecasts

H/T Gateway Pundit:

At each of the three presidential debates he promised to cut the US deficit.

More debt, more debt, more debt

David Frum can be read HERE:
Barack Obama's 100 days have not gone as badly as Napoleon's. In money terms, however, they have been considerably more expensive. Since his inauguration on Jan. 20, 2009, President Obama has proposed new spending programs that will add over the next 10 years $6.5-trillion (all figures U. S.) to the American national debt. That's $6.5-trillion over and above the debt that would have been incurred had the existing policies been left alone. (Not that those existing policies were so great either.)That's $65-billion in new debt every single day of the first 100. Expensive.
And this figure is surely too low, because it is based on (1) almost certainly unduly optimistic assumptions about the growth of the U. S. economy over the next few years and (2) unduly optimistic assumptions about the costs of President Obama's health care ideas.

Woman bites driver over non-hybrid bus

from the New York Daily News:

Going green was a cause she could really sink her teeth into.

The frantic passenger who bit a veteran driver's arm was upset that his bus wasn't a hybrid, he said Thursday.

Wanting revenge without regard to truth

from Michael Barone at Washington Examiner:

In the meantime, Obama’s appeasement of the Madame Defarges carries a political price. Pollster Scott Rasmussen reports that 58 percent of Americans believe his release of the CIA memos endangers national security. Show trials of Bush administration officials could raise that number. Appeasing the Madame Defarges may cost more than it is worth.

UAW workers must work 40 hrs a week to get overtime (sob)

Easter Monday? Who knew?

Among the cost-cutting measures that the UAW leaders have accepted are a suspension of cost-of-living-adjustments and new limits on overtime pay. Workers will only be paid for overtime after they have worked at least 40 hours in a week. Chrysler workers will also lose their Easter Monday holiday in 2010 and 2011, according to the union summary.

UAW owns majority of GM

from Say Anything Blog:

Say you’re a labor union.  Your big, bloated labor contracts are killing your industry to the point where its teetering on the edge of insolvency.  What do you do?  Negotiate more reasonable contracts?

Of course not.  Get the Democrats you just got elected to take over the company for you and then give it to you.

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. — The United Auto Workers union will own 55% of a restructured Chrysler LLC and its retiree health care trust will get a seat on the board if union members vote to approve contract concessions this week.

Chrysler stock could even be traded publicly again, as there are mechanisms for the UAW to sell shares to fund the health care trust.
