Obama said: "What we need to do is examine: What are the projects where we're going to get the most bang for the buck? ... You know, the days of just pork coming out of Congress as a strategy, those days are over."

There was a time when Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin could shape the world in one meeting," Obama said. "Those days are over. The world is more complex today."

This time, CEOs won’t be able to use taxpayer money to pad their paychecks or buy fancy drapes or disappear on a private jet.  Those days are over. 

There's no time for delay. We need durable and successful flows of credit in our economy, but we can't tolerate profits that depend on misleading working families. Those days are over.
