No one is audibly lamenting the retirement of George W. or throwing shoes at his successor's head because he speaks in sentences, but this president is bestriding the world as a flake, cow-towing to the Mikado, apologizing for President Truman's use of the atomic bomb, criticizing Roosevelt and Churchill's uninclusive approach to winning World War II, and Churchill and Eisenhower for disposing of the pajama-clad hysteric Mohammed Mossadegh as head of Iran.

Incompetence
Some of us have been wondering about Barack Obama. Surely he has the gift of oratory; how hollow that rings now depends on how you perceive him; surely yesterday's pettiness in Elyria elucidated the problem. But, behind it all, we've always HOPED there was a certain degree of measurable COMPETENCE which would extend into his time in the presidency (reminder, BO-You're living in the White House...it's not your HOME). Some serious questions have arisen, indeed burst forth dramatically and explosively this week with the shift in Massachusetts from red to blue.
