What Rush really said

Was Don't give your money to the government, if you are contributing to Haiti. White House officials were encouraging people to donate through White House.gov but what Rush said was that it would be better to donate through the Red Cross since money that goes to Washington never seems to go to the right place. Hm. And the blockhead reference? He said it, but not like it's reported on Yahoo. They love to rip comments out of context and then make him look bad, but, honestly, he loves to tweak them and see what kind of response he can get out of them. And he's usually right in his assessments.
Limbaugh has come under fire from both the right and the left for saying that the earthquake played directly into Obama’s hands, allowing him to look “compassionate.” The host claimed the White House’s response would bolster Obama’s standing in the “light-skinned and dark-skinned black community in this country.”

He also appeared to discourage help for the island nation, saying, “We've already donated to Haiti. It’s called the U.S. income tax.”
